Please, Time:
Pause.
Stop, just for a moment or two.
Moments, you know, you have plenty of.
Allow your precious gift of self,
Time.
Before loss sets in
and grief shrouds,
and all that is True is carried off
atop an angry sea of tears
and doubt.
Please, Time:
Pause.
Allow consideration
of gifts received
and those yet to be received;
Gifts understood
and those not.
Please, Time:
Pause.
So that when the loss fades,
and grief takes to the winds –
stirred by some tomorrow’s sure sunrise –
Truth returns.
Truth new in form but timeless:
Truth about who we are,
where we fit,
why we exist,
how we love,
are loved,
and will continue to be loved.
Please Time:
Pause.
Blessed Time.
This piece (hopefully) honors good buddy Judy Borgquist, principal from Sonora, whose wonderful and talented husband, Warren, passed away two weeks ago; AND dear friend and "sister" Excelsior School Principal Diane Duncan, of Granite Bay, who's loving partner and husband, and my friend, Brad, died last Friday night.
